A BIRD VIEW OF SUCCESSFUL STORY OF SWARNA FOOTBALL ACADEMY
‘ Mandya’, the Sugarcity of Karnataka is well known for ‘ Sugarcane’, which is also recognised for its Football fame. The name and fame of Mandya is being uplifted by many national and international players of Mandya. The great heritage of football in Mandya is now being protected by the common minded people and veteran players with the establishment of ‘ Swarna Football Academy’.
The above mentiioned is established with the support of local soccer fans of Swarnasandra and Arakeshwara Nagar when their interest was kindled by the State Level Football Tournament, organised in 2001,. The interest of the fans who gathered to watch matches held between 17th June to 1st July was observed by the District Football Coach ‘ Krishna’ who determined to provide a systematic coaching facilities to these young footballers. He dreamt about a well organised and equipped. Academy to do with the joint effort of veteran. State football player B.Venkat, sports patrons like A.Nagaraju, K.N. Ravimanjesh, T. Varaprasad and Somashekaraiah, paved a way of the birth of ‘ Swarnafootball Academy’ which is recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary.
From 2001 onwards, for about 10 years. Our Academy is providing the best coaching for the interested, enthusiastic, young football players. For about 80-90 high school going boys and about 30-40 pre university and university Level teenage lads are getting match experience and sports spirit oriented coaching. They are being divided into different groups and are put to play league matches every sunday to get competitive spirit and match experience. Prizes are also being distributed to them by the local patrons. To enrich their physical strength, as many of them from poor family who are lack of good / balanced food. Milk, egg and bananas are also being provided in conducive ocassions with the help of local patrons.
The main motto of our Academy is to increase the interest on football, to provide the young continuous technical training, to findout individual football talent and to make young acquire the ability to participate in state and National Level football tournaments. Our aim is to develop football skills and game taactics along with their physical fitness.
On this successful journey, we must thankful to all the parents all our club members and chairpersons and also the M.D.F.A., who are responsible for registration of our two clubs with K.S.F.A.
The successful story of our Academy in different tournament and Mandya League
Our Clubs Swarna Football Club and Benaka Football clubs emerged as a Champions in A division and B Division Mandya Foot ball league respectively when they entered the league in 2007. In the next season, that is 2010 both the teams secured the winners and runners respectively and retained the league cup. It is proud to say that the third placed student F.C and the champions of B Division leaugue and runners of B division league teams consisted of our Academy players and who are being trained in our Academy.
Including these league title our Academy young players have won the following tournaments cups and cash prizes.
2001, 2003, 2005 tournament ‘ Kannan Devan Cup ’ winerrs held in Periyapatna and also won cash prizes of Rs.5,000/-, 6,000/-, 10,000/-.

INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS OF OUR ACADEMY’S YOUNG PLAYERS
A Pradeep, Aravinda, K.Arujungowda, Huchegowda, N.Harish, Jitesh Kumar, G.V Madhu, Praveen, M.N. Sujith, K.L. Koushik, U.K. Mahesh, K.N. Manohar, Sharath Kumar, S.Muralidhar are the players, represented Mysore University in Inter State Tournament, M.S Vinodh, Manjunath K.N, Kishore M.R represent Mysore University in 2009 & 2010.
Chethan Kumar, Shivakumar J. Kiran M.R, G.S Ganesh, represented Karnataka State Team in Under 14 Football tournament held in Goa in 2007.
J.Shivakumar and M.S Devaraju represented Karnataka in 2009 in Rural Natioal Football tournament held in Punjab.
H.Nandish Kumar represented Karnataka in Chennai in Under 14 : National Foot ball Tournament.
K.R Arjun gowda, N.Akhish, M.S Manjunath and M.R Kishore are the members of Karnataka team in Rural National Football tournament in 2004 held in Madhyapradesh.
K.R Arjun gowda, N.Akhish, Yogananda M.P. and S.Sgar are the members of runners up Karnataka tem in National Rural Foot ball tournament held in 2007 in Mizoram and Balumahendra represented Karnataka team in National Rural Football tournament held in Goa.
Praveen Kumar, C.J. Jitesh Kumar, K.N. Yogananda, M.J Harsha, Vardhan, S.Sagar and K.R Arjun Gowda represented Karnataka in under 17 years School Natiional Football Tournament in 2007 held at Kolkata.
Chandan M.N, M.S. Vinodh, T.N Manjunath, K.N. Jitesh Kumar, M.R Kishore, S.Shivaraju, represented Karnataka State in National School Football Tournament in 2008 held at Andaman.
In 2009, S.Shivaraju, M.R Kishore Chandan M.N. represented Karnataka in National Rural Football tournaments
THE IMPORTANT TOURNAMENETS CONDUCTED AND ARE BEING CONDUCTED BY OUR ACADEMY
In 2001 :- Surabhicup in which the famous tems of Bangalore A.D.E., M.E.G., U.B. S.A.I. and the teams of Mysore like Durgamba, Sonia F.C, K.R Mills Nanjangud, Mangalore, Davanagere, Harihara, Shivamogga, Kolar and host Mandya’s Swarna F.C, IFC, Young Star F.C, werer participated and U.B Bangalore team lifted the cup by defeating A.D.E team in the final.
In 2009 :- M Srinivas Challenge Trophy Bangalore 4 teams, Mysore, Mangalore, Davanagere, Kodau, Dharwad and host Swarna F.C. Particpated and Dharwar tem defeated the host team and won the trophy.
From 2005, a tournament was conducted for high school students “ Swarna Rolling Cup’ and is being conducted every year and an inter district 7s tournament “ Late Brahmananda Memorial Cup” is being conducted every year to encourage District teams.
